Apple Corps: Theft

 

    

       Items Allegedly Stolen:

•Allegedly stolen: 3 televisions, adding machines, wine, rented items, pay packets, speaker cones, cameras, fan heaters, electric skillet.

•One employee stated that she used to just take £150 a week. Others admitted doing the same.

•The lead off the roof was stolen which caused leaks. It was thousands of pounds to repair.

•Allegedly stolen: Employee paychecks, electric typewriters, record player needles, and cases of alcohol (Granados, S. Those Were the Days. p. 66).

•Nigel Oliver: We used to take stacks of albums out of Apple. All of the albums that were supposed to be posted to America we never sent. I was the best office boy though; people thought I was the one who could be trusted, I wore a suit and I was making seven pound fifty (Granados, S. Those Were the Days. p. 66).


       General Statements:

•Some employees charged food and clothing for personal use to Apple.

•There were questions about the whereabouts of the colored TV and carpet
that vanished from John's office, which typist was phoning Canberra every
afternoon, why had so-and-so given himself a 60 pound raise and why is he
only seen on payday? (Clayson p. 145).

•John Lyndon, head of Apple Retail, warns The Fool that they will be excluded from all clothing work rooms if they do not stop taking garments without payment (Schultheiss 205).
