The Yardbirds Report
Dear Fans,
Here's the latest on the greatest rave up band of all time. The Yardbirds have just completed a whirlwind tour of Canada and most of the flock flew back to the U.K. without frostbite. Yardbird McCarty however flew south to The States to record some tracks with former Animal's guitarist Hilton Valentine and John Hawken formerly of The Nashville Teens and also Jim's old bandmate in Renaissance. We have five tracks in the can including a killer version of Graham Gouldman's song 'You Stole My Love' which I hope to release as a single on Mooreland St records in the near future. You'll dig it!
There is also a rumor in the wind about a 'Royalty Of Rock' tour hitting the USA this summer which will include The Yardbirds, The Zombies and more. Nothing in concrete yet so keep your fingers crossed.
Rock n Roll legend Giorgio Gomelsky celebrated his 75th birthday last week and I was very pleased that the old boy invited me to his party. He's looking good and still full of new ideas and concepts. Little Steven was there so I shamelessly pitched the McCarty/Valentine/Hawken Project to him. Maybe we'll get some airplay on The Underground Garage! That would be nice.
Till next time I remain your humble webmaster,
Russ Garrett (www.yardbirds.us)

More McCarty news. Directly following the Canadian tour in February James will travel south to the USA to record some new rock & roll songs with his old mate Hilton Valentine of The Animals. I'll be producing the sessions and I guarantee a splendid set of rockin' tunes that will be released on Mooreland Street Records later this year.
