Ator de Game of Thrones será Charles Manson em série limitada

6 jun. / 2014 - O ator Gethin Anthony, que interpretou o personagem Renly Baratheon na série Game of Thrones, foi escalado para viver o psicopata Charles Manson na série limitada Aquarius. A informação é do site TV Line.

A trama da série vai acompanhar um policial (David Dochovny, da série Californication) de Los Angeles nos anos 1960, que começa a investigar um vigarista que está reunindo mulheres para formar uma “família” de seguidores. Trata-se de ninguém menos que Charles Manson, responsável por uma série de assassinatos violentos que chocaram os EUA nos anos 1960, inclusive da atriz Sharon Tate, então grávida do diretor Roman Polanski.

O elenco ainda conta com Grey Damon (série Friday Night Lights) e Emma Dumont (série Bunheads). A atração foi criada pelo roteirista John McNamara (roteirista de In Plain Sight e Fastlane), com produção de Duchovny e Marty Adelstein (produtor de Prison Break).

Não se trata, a princípio, de uma minissérie, pois há a possibilidade de serem produzidas outras temporadas. Se a audiência responder positivamente, o assassinato de Sharon Tate ficaria, inclusive, para uma futura temporada. A fórmula já deu certo com Under the Dome, também lançado como série limitada, o que levou muitos a rotularem aquele lançamento de minissérie.
Aquarius está sendo desenvolvida para o canal americano NBC. Ainda não há previsão de estreia.

Gethin Anthony será visto em breve no drama We Are Monster e nos thrillers Narcopolis e Hi-Lo Joe, todos sem previsão de lançamento comercial.

   A hoax claiming that Charles Manson, who is responsible for the murders of several people, is free from jail
has made its way around the internet.

   According to the hoax, Charles Manson was granted a special parole hearing and was released from prison due to his failing health. The hoax was written by Aaron Smith and cites several facts and authority figures.
It even claims that California Governor Jerry Brown authorized Manson’s parole, reports The Inquisitr.

Luckily, this is only a hoax. Charles Manson had his last parole hearing in April 2012 and won’t be eligible for another one until 2027. Manson also doesn’t believe he should get parole and described himself as “a very dangerous man” before his 2012 hearing. He was given the death sentence in 1971, but California ended its death sentence the next year, The Inquisitr notes.
